Role Description The Staff Pharmacist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Staff Pharmacist will dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately, counsel customers on proper use, dosage, and potential side effects, and ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, maintaining up-to-date inventory, checking expiry dates, and organizing stock to support safe and efficient operations. The role also involves maintaining detailed records, supporting basic health queries from customers, coordinating with physicians or clinics when needed, and helping keep the pharmacy area clean, organized, and secure. The Staff Pharmacist will collaborate with store staff to provide courteous, professional service and contribute to a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Professional pharmacy qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), with valid registration and license as required by local regulatory authorities.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including indications, dosage forms, drug interactions, contraindications, and safe dispensing practices.
- Ability to interpret and verify prescriptions accurately, with attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Effective communication skills for patient counseling, including clear explanation of medication usage, storage, and possible side effects.
- Experience with inventory management, recordkeeping, and basic pharmacy software or point-of-sale systems.
- Customer service mindset, including patience, respect, and the ability to support individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- High ethical standards, reliability, and adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements related to pharmacy operations.
